Sean Hogan:
The Poetics of Typography

In this presentation Sean will discuss the typography and ideas behind his design of the award winning publication ‘Signature’. A unique collaboration between poetry, place, author and designer, ‘Signature’ recontextualizes into book form author Paul Carter’s poetic inscriptions that are installed in award-winning public spaces throughout Australia.

Sean Hogan

Sean Hogan is a graphic designer and artist based in Melbourne, Australia. As director of his studio, Trampoline, he has worked with clients from all over the world including commissions from Apple Music, The New York Times and Wired Magazine. Sean has won awards across three major design institutions in Australia: the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA), the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) and the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture (AILA). He has been an invited contributor to San Francisco Design Week, Melbourne Design Week and Shanghai Visual Art and Design Exhibition. In 2020 a collection of 30 of his digital artworks were published and presented at the Shanghai Art and Design Book Fair in a large poster book titled 'Sean Hogan: 30 Works 2014-2020'.
